England wasn't at the current under-17s tournament being played somewhere in Africa; what the scouts were watching was an Azerbaijan v. England qualifier, played in Azerbaijan last month. That's a god-forsaken place, a long way for them to have gone, so who were they there to look at and talk to? Perhaps an Azerbaijan kid; perhaps another England kid. But since Afobe looks to be a star in the making, having scored in all the qualifiers he has played in, my money would be on him.
