Captain Terry Roundly Booed
Poor John Terry… wait I take that back, f*ck John Terry. Why not, he’s f*cked everything else?
As an Arsenal supporter I am actually enjoying this press coverage. Usually, the papers are filled with non-stop coverage about “Arsene Whinger” and what a bunch of foreign diving dandies Arsenal are but today’s press coverage of John Terry’s latest scandal is quite enjoyable.
It’s kind of weird to me, he basically offered to sell the England captain’s armband to the highest bidder and no one really said a peep. He was caught red handed selling private tours of Stamford Bridge (and over here is where our groundskeeper and Nani got into a racist spat) and people basically let it go. But he sleeps with one French underwear model and the country is outraged!
These are just the latest scandals, folks. This is not a good guy and never has been. Back right after 9/11 he and several other Chelsea teammates got drunk in an airport bar and mocked Americans. And even if you were outraged about him being a philanderer it’s not like this was the first time! He’s cheated on his wife and the mother of his children like what, 6 times? That we know of!
But hey, who am I to question the logic of English people turning on John Terry? You hate him now? Fine! Boo him and all the Chelsea boys (remember Ashley Cole, you hate him as well, the greedy c*nt) they thoroughly deserve it. They are the most despicable pack of cheats in the game.
The thing about the booing is that it probably hurts him and the Chelsea side far worse than any tackle or well placed goal ever could. They thrive on their reputation as “good English lads” and when the English fans turn on them it tears them up, as you saw last night when Hull City held them to a 1-1 draw and by all accounts they played terribly.
Arsenal are just 6 points behind them and with the cracks showing in the Chelsea side, there’s a real chance for Arsenal to get something back on Sunday.
We just need to be brave.
What Happened to Theo Walcott?
Gunnerblog has an excellent piece on where Theo has been, where he should be, and why we might want to give him some time before we pass judgement. Read it, it will make you feel better about Arsene not signing anyone. [Gunnerblog]
Hornby
Nick Hornby was at the Arsenal v. United game on Sunday and says that the perfect tonic for getting over the loss is getting an Oscar nomination. Since I’m not likely to get one of those any time soon, I’ll stick with the old standby: Bulleit Burbon. [Nick Hornby's Blog]
PSP @ Emirates
I’m not sure how many of you have match tickets to a home game, a PSP, and £10 to burn but if you have all of that, you can get some special content on your PSP while sitting in your seat at the Emirates. Does anyone out there do this? Please fill the rest of us in on why you would do such a thing. [The Dot Com]
Sign up for Red Level Membership and I get £10
My regular reader knows that I am a Red Level Member and I am a big proponent of Red Level Membership. It’s not only a great way to show your support of the club, but it’s also a great way to get match tickets: there are Red Level match tickets available for the away game to Porto. It’s how I’m getting my match tickets for the two games in March.
After a few years as a Red Level Member, you move up and become a Silver Level member and then you get even more access to match tickets.
So, there are lots of goods reasons to sign up and become a Red Level Member. In addition to all those good reasons, if I recommend you and you subsequently sign up, I get a £10 voucher for the team store and you get a £5 voucher.
I can only recommend 5 people and I’d rather pick 5 who were going to sign up, so if you’re interested in becoming a Red Level Member, send me an email and we’ll chat about it.

Tim, do you by any chance know how long is the queue to Silver Membership? It’s my second consecutive year as Red Member and I was wondering recently if I’m ever gonna be promoted before I die…
BTW, to anyone hesitating – with Red Level it’s hard to get tickets to class A games (ManIOU, Chelski, Liverpoor, Spuds) but it’s not impossible. I somehow managed to buy a ticket to Scousers game next week. It took me an hour of waiting in front of my computer and some very fast clicking when I was finally let in to the online reservation system, but it worked
I was hating John Terry before it was cool.
Re red membership – I signed up for it in 2005. I am now position 7900 on the witing list for silver, it moves very slowly indeed. The problem is that very few people give it up, even when they get a season ticket.I have moved much more quickly up the season ticket waiting list and am now down to no. 750. But I do agree about red level membership. I get to go to virtually every game I want to – the only requirement is to get on the web or the phone the very minute that the tickets become available to red members. I’ve been to ten home games and one away already this season and have tickets for Liverpool and Sunderland – so it can be done!
Miko_Gooner been a red card member for 7-8 years still waiting to become a Silver card Member.

@joseph,hmmm… that’s a bit disheartening. Been a Red Level Member for 4 years.
When I go, I always ask them where I am in the queue. I thought it moved a little faster than that.
The last time i was told where i am in the queue it was around 48000 that was about 4 years ago time goes so quick.
Hi there,
Just FYI, I was a Red member since they started issuing red level cards back in the early 2000s. year after year I would wait in anticipation of getting bumped up to silver level, but that never happened… until last summer when I was told that after 10 years I finally got the front of the queue for season tix! So, strangely, i leapfrogged silver level and went straight to gold, albiet after 10 years. Clearly, silver is just not a priority with the ticket office any more and i don’t think they are issuing new ones, though i could be wrong. it’s all about platinum, diamond club, etc… you get the picture.
as for getting red level tix to games, you can often get them for carling cup matches (carling cup games are not included in normal season tix packages, though season tix holders have first dibs on their own seats), and if you are persistant (as mike mentioned above), you can sometimes get a single seat to a decent premiership match, but getting two seats together is a real struggle. i never managed to do it for a premiership match in all my years of being a red member (not that i tried for every single match). you can also often get nosebleed seats for an early round champs league match. i bought a pair for one of the first competitive matches at the emirates vs sparta prague (i think it was them)… literally last row, but hey, i was in there!
happy hunting guys.
The whole irony of the Terry situation as you said Tim, is that he has been forgiven for his numerous transgressions because he is British and an excellent defender.
However, he committed the cardinal sin of sleeping with a teammate’s WAG. His teammate’s, whether at Chelsea or on the national team will now be always wary of his presence.
Go figure.

Had a rough 7 months. lost my brother in law and 2 childhood friends, and saw my daughter through a nasty divorce.
I have still been reading your blog but just was not inclined to comment. I’m in the process of re-emerging as a pest once again.

Mootz 2-3 years more to wait then
Hey guys how do you know your position on the waiting list to become silver member ?
Also how long before the tickets go on sale, do you have to try to enter the ticket hub to get one ticket ?

@A Gooner, you call them and they’ll tell you your position.
Red Level Tix go on sale 1 month prior.
got the info from the club when i was renewing my red card membership. This only happend once so i am not sure.
Hi my brother got red membership this year , he asked where he was on the list for a silver membership and they told him 65,843 so it looks like a lifetime of waiting rather than a couple of seasons. If you are a Junior Gunner though , when you get too old their membership automatically goes to silver membership.I myself am a gold member having been aseason ticket holder since 1987.On a good note , red meembers are allowed to buy on ticket exchange (my brother got a ticket for Liverpool match on sunday after the Chelsea game as plastic supporters put their tickets up for excvahnge I.E. none on the site before Sundays game but after Sundays game there were 28 on ticket exchange.
sorry just saw typo error to my last post , my brothers position in the waiting list for silver membership was 265,843 not 65,843 as previously stated.
This time last year
12W 7D 5L
43 points
Notable defeats: away to Fulham and Stoke, home to Villa and Hull. Not this year!
Game 24 last year was also the 1st in a run of 4 EPL games without a goal! Don’t see that happening with this team.
Today:
15W 4D 5L
49 points. Turning draws into wins?
2 cents on Terry. I don’t think he gives a crap about his personal situation because he seems to be on his game and maybe even more committed to the team. I knew a guy who got caught. He was absolutely distraught. Not so Terry.
Jermaine Beckford is what we hope Jay Simpson will grow up to be.

What? A player who made a career scoring in the lower divisions?
ctpa Reply:

@Patrick, No, a player who is capable of scoring goals against Man U and Sp**s.
Rex Ryan, the coach of the NY Jets (that’s an American football team) gets fined by the Jets 50k for a middle finger gesture directed at a fan of the Miami Dolphins.
Gary Neville is caught displaying the same finger at Carlos Tevez and he just gets cut from making the reserve bench. The FA took no action where as the NFL was preempted by the Jets from punishing Ryan. The FA is a toothless organization that is govern by political agendas and not by impartial application of its rules.
Does anyone have a spare 100mil for Liverpool by the end of July to save them from going on the block? That’s when their refinanced loan is due and things start to really get grim.
If you were on of the ‘lucky 50′ investors in the man U bond offer, you are feeling like you’ve been scammed this morning: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/manchester_united/article7013260.ece
Do you think Chelsea will play as badly as they did against Hull for us? I don’t think so.
Hope Theo gets back to his speedy best very very soon .We need him to kill off the lower teams. And also hoping our not buying a striker doesn’t return to bite us.
