I think Higuain is a better player for us–a more efficient and hard working striker. I’d be concerned about Jovetic’s physicality and durability–he’s had lots of injuries too.

Tim, fantastic write up as usual. Congrats on a top of the table performance from you and 7amkickoff this season.

As far as the Vermaelen point, I agreed wholeheartedly with your post this fall. And it is precisely for this reason that I had called for Arteta being made captain. He’s really the only undroppable player who was with us last season and this, and he is an outstanding professional, a genuine veteran leader and terrific captain.

Was there a deep lying midfielder better than him in the league this season? I can’t think of one.

Can’t agree with you more, NYC. Ryo is too young to send away and I can live with Diaby staying on the books (after all how would we be able to sell him?) as long as we aren’t gambling on him again in our plans–we need to regard any appearances from his as a possibly wonderful bonus. I’m not even so sure Gervinho should be allowed to go. I’ve never encountered a more frustrating player in front of goal, but he might be able to improve his finishing if he gains confidence, calms down a bit, but you cannot get a more unpredictably direct player–keep him in the squad, there is no ACN this year to foil his season. If I thought we would add a wide attacker to the list of positions I think we need players in, I’d be okay with selling him, but I’d rather we get a top striker, a physical and dynamic midfielder, and a veteran GK first.

It looks like a noisy, intimidating place on TV. How do you compare St. James’s Park to other venues? Seems those nosebleed seats actually have a decent view.

That’s one of Monkey-boy’s hands doing his ‘heart’ goal celebrations. Hence the “half -hearted” part. It’s fitting that the other hand is missing, since the rest of him will probably look for bananas elsewhere. The gap between finger and thumb is a gap that should be minded by Spuds forever. But you’re right: a smaller gap would be probably be more suited to our under-hung neighbours.

And in case you’re puzzled: PENIS OVER BRAIN is an anagram for He Who Shall Not Be Mentioned. The traitorous skunk who will be playing for David Moyes for a few years. (Good luck with that, dickhead!)

Right here, right now is our time. We are the team with the most stable structure, financial where with all to take advantage of the changes taking place at the teams around us. I believe Gazidis and Wenger know that the time has come to strike on the transfer front and prove that Arsenal still has what it takes to put out a dominant season.

I would prefer a Higuain to a Jovetic but either one will do.

I’ve been to Emirates Stadium a few times but never managed to do it for a “real” match. I no longer travel to London for business, and I’m sure I speak for many of us across the pond and elsewhere, who can only dream of getting to a game when I say, keep those great images coming.
